I’m not nostalgic, but sometimes when I’m touching an app on my smartphone, I wonder what the younger generations would think about the world I grew up in.  It must seem positively primitive. I remember a time before cell phones, before cable TV, and yeah, before the Internet.  I do remember black…

    I remember coming across a quote once by an Egyptian pharaoh about how the invention of WRITING was a horrible thing that destroy people’s memory and interfere with actual thought and learning. This kind of outcry has literally been going on for millenia, but some how we always adapt (there’s that word again). I happen to love holding a physical boook in my hand, but I’ve also been reading ebooks for over a decade – the world ain’t ending (except for those who refuse to adapt.)

    5 channels was the norm in Australia for people who didn’t buy pay TV until a few years ago when they introduced a few more free to air channels :-)

    And since one doesn’t need a GPS to see where the big publishers are going, one wonders why they can’t see it themselves and ‘get with the programme’.
